The Wild Rovers was born from a love of wild places, slow travel, and the freedom of the open road.
Based in the breathtaking South Island of New Zealand, we create luxury self-drive adventures for those who want to explore Aotearoa at their own pace—without compromising on comfort, style, or sustainability. With our fully outfitted Land Rover Defenders, your accommodation and camping gear are already packed. All that’s left is to choose the road less travelled.
We’re proud to tread lightly, support local, and provide experiences that connect travellers to the heart of Te Waipounamu [South Island] —from alpine peaks and ancient forests to remote beaches and starlit campsites.
